Line and Shape
I chose to shoot my pictures on bridges, stairs, railroad tracks and on the water at sunset. I am pretty far from my subjects, at the end of each and I took the, from front on. My photos are horizontal. The rule of thirds is in the picture on the water with the boat because it is equally proportional. The railroad tracks are a dynamic composition that successfully leads the viewers eye down the tracks.
Pattern and Texture
My best photo is the picture of the lights on the wall. I zoomed into the shot. It was taken from below, from the side. The photo is horizontal. The photo doesn't follow the rule of thirds because it isn't directly proportional. This picture is an example of pattern and texture because of the lines and surface of the wall. The picture of the window may be overexposed, the window is really bright. The picture of the light outside may be underexposed, the trees and lights are took dark which takes away detail of the picture. The picture of the light is a properly exposed photo because the details of pattern and texture are still visible.
